In terms of wired coverage, almost hundred (99.7) percent of the population has access to wire line service. 98.4% have access to cable internet services, 97% have access to DSL, and 1.1% has access to optic fiber internet services.
When broadband internet speeds become the criteria, the percentage of people with access to wired broadband services offering speeds of 25 Mbps and 100 Mbps is 98.7% and none of the residents of Connecticut has access to one Gbps internet. There are only 75 internet providers in the state and only 49,000 do not have access to a wired internet connection capable of offering 25 Mbps download speeds. The number of people that do not have any wired internet service providers in their residential area is just 12,000.
